Tribute to poet Roi Kwabena who passed away earlier this year

A wonderful poet, a brilliant performer, a great orator and beautifully warm and full of humanity he was, poet Roi Kwabena. He passed away earlier this year; lung cancer took him away!

I do not know what to say! I could still see him at the Poetry Cafe, at RADA at the 2nd London Poetry Festival 2006. He was on fire that night. I remember people loved his style of performance and he sang-performed one of his poem: Obya Man (I am not sure how he spelt it)! He was an Obya Man of today's poetry. I offer my sincere condolences to friends and family of this great man and great poet.

To celebrate his life London Poetry Festival will dedicate the Sunday night (10th of August) to Roi Kwabena.

Colleagues and friends of Roi are invited to join London Poetry Festival to come together to sing the life of this Beautiful Man. May God keep his soul beautifully. Roi Kwabena
