Partners of the Arts

London Poetry Festival has launched Partners of the Arts this year at the 5th Festival 2009.

Partners of the Arts is a loosely organised mutual support network of all the organisations, local, regional, national, supranational, international and universal of all forms, sizes and shapes working in any and all fields and forms of arts.

This network has no constitution, no rule book, no committee, no chair or president or convening committee. It functions as naturally as a community of people. There are no meetings or AGMs or this or the other.

It is based on the premise that these organisations can support and help each other and thus the art form they promote by way of working together for mutual benefits without using any monetary expenditure. The support is given and received in kind. So that The National Gallery could offer support to The Tate or Greenwich Theatre or Finborough Theatre while they can return the same support for the National Gallery. That only takes imagination and a willingness to be supportive and look at all organisations as partners and colleagues working towards the same end: for the Arts.

London Poetry Festival has worked with The Tate and Shakespeare's Globe and some other organisations before. We are now extending that formally from this year.

Hence, here is the invite to all to join The Partners of the Arts and support each other in achieving the goals for the Arts.

Any Arts organisation ( a magazine to a theatre, a poetry film group to a dance organisation, a singers' co-op to a poetry club, a drawing group to a sculpting group, poetry library or Reading groups could join in.

The support is simple all members support each other's and everyone else's ventures using their existing facilities, newsletters, websites, mailing lists, press contacts and offer each other discounted facilities etc.

There is no money involved whatsoever.

So here is the invite to everyone.

London Poetry Festival has succeeded in reaching its 5th year and it shall continue to work for bringing poetry together and support all art forms in every way it can.

So long live Partners of the Arts.
